The problem
An Andon alert only helps if someone notices it
Andon makes issues visible. But visibility is not the same as reachability.
The shift lead is at the line, not at the screen. Maintenance works two halls away. On the night shift a minimal crew is on duty, and the email notification sits unread in the inbox. Every minute an Andon alert goes unnoticed extends the mean time to repair (MTTR) – the exact metric an Andon solution is meant to reduce. Andon Call closes that last mile: from the alert to the person.

Every Andon alert becomes a phone call within seconds – to mobile or landline, without anyone having to watch a board.
Routing by department
Maintenance, Quality, Changeover: each alert type reaches the right number. Freely configurable, with a fallback default recipient.
Acknowledgement & escalation
The recipient confirms by keypad. If unanswered, the call escalates to the next recipient – until someone responds.
Covers the night shift
Exactly when no one is at the board, the call is the reliable channel. Around the clock, without extra screens.
Duplicate-call protection
Each alert triggers only once. Idempotency and state tracking prevent call storms on restarts or on stale alerts.
Directly on MTTR
A shorter reaction time means shorter downtime. Andon Call measurably shortens the gap between fault and intervention.

Frequently asked questions
- Do we have to rebuild our Shoplogix system for this?
No. Andon Call reads existing Andon alerts and adds the call channel. Your Andon processes in Shoplogix stay unchanged – it is an add-on, not a system switch.
- How is it decided who gets called?
Through configurable routing by department – for example Maintenance or Quality. Each alert type has a target number; unassigned alerts fall back to a default recipient. If no one answers, the call escalates.
- What happens if no one answers the call?
The call escalates to the next configured recipient until someone responds and acknowledges by keypad. A duplicate-call protection ensures the same alert never triggers a call storm.
- Is Andon Call suitable for the night shift?
Yes – that is what it is built for. Especially on the night shift or with a minimal crew, when no one is at the board, the call is the reliable way to reach the responsible person. The service runs around the clock.
